  • Chris Coleman's Visit

    On Friday, April 27th Chris Coleman, Wales Football Manager, visited Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg. The school held a question and answer session with Chris before he was photographed with the School football teams. The pupils enjoyed Chris’ honesty, integrity and charisma in answering the questions asked.
     
     
     

  • Stwnsh come to play

    Last week, two presenters from the S4C program ‘Stwnsh’ came to visit year 7 and 8 pupils. The screams of laughter could be heard through the corridors, as pupils enjoyed a morning of fun and games in the School Hall.
     

  • Our Trip to North Wales

    Our welsh class came to school far more excited than usual this St David’s day, knowing that this year’s festival would be something special. We were setting off on a three day trip around Wales, organised by the welsh department. The aim of the trip was for us to gain a better understanding of the subjects we have and will be studying during the course, but we also learnt a great deal about our heritage and came back having had a fantastic time and feeling proud to be welsh.

  • NACE Cymru Challenge Award

    YSGOL GYFUN BRO MORGANNWG is the 1st Welsh Medium Secondary School and the 11th school in Wales to achieve the prestigious NACE Cymru Challenge Award for More Able and Talented Pupils. This Award is given for high quality work by the whole school, teachers and governors, in challenging all pupils, including those with high abilities, to achieve their best.

    Assessors, who spent a day in the school, were impressed by strong leadership and management of provision which keeps the needs of more able learners at the forefront of the school’s work and the good support and challenge provided by the Governors.

    Assessors judged the quality of the school’s work by observing lessons, interviewing the pupils, teachers, parents and governors and by looking at the pupils’ work. The Award is given when schools demonstrate that they meet the criteria of the Award and will remain committed to continuing to ensure high-quality provision for more able and talented pupils.
